Heavensent Releases His Debut Album, Tranquil Tantrum, a Peaceful Protest to the Modern World.

BentBeat Productions’ Heavensent unleashes a cross-genre album debut with songs ranging from struggling rebellion to dealing with his father’s untimely death.

PORTLAND, OREGON, USA, NOVEMBER 4, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Everyone grows up in different ways with their own struggles.  An individual’s emotional tendencies and personality is a direct result of their circumstances and the way they were raised.  Heavensent takes us on a journey of his upbringing and the challenges he faced with his freshman album, Tranquil Tantrum.

Heavensent (Austin Kvalvik) is an artist on staff at BentBeat Productions in Portland, Oregon.  In between producing, engineering, and playing guitar on other artists’ works, he found time to pen his own story with a battery of songs that would become this album.

“When I was writing these songs I really just tried to get out of the way of my creativity and stop worrying about what everyone would think about me,” recalls Heavensent.  “It’s rare that I feel like my struggles are bad enough to complain about, but I know there are people out there like me who probably feel the same way. I hope listeners are inspired to conquer life’s challenges by the ways I’ve defeated my own.”

Tranquil Tantrum is officially a solo project.  However, being on staff at a music production studio certainly has its job perks.  BentBeat’s Dave Beatty and Krista Westfall acted in consulting and producer roles, and Katie Sax helped with engineering and kept important things organized.  Other artists that contributed to the work include rappers Son*Tavo, Nobody47, Boy Azure, BlesT, and Loui B, and singers Bryanna Depiro and Tyson Trill, and Heavensent’s brother, Devin.

“I’m so grateful to so many talented people who helped with this album,” said a thankful Heavensent.  “Trying to blend so many different times of my life and musical tastes was a beautiful challenge, but the team stepped up.”

Heavensent’s music might have you questioning what genre you enjoy listening to the most.

Tranquil Tantrum album is streaming now on Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify and wherever you find great music.

Katie Sax hands over her heart-opening premier album, Close Your Eyes

Portland newcomer, Katie Sax, shares a coming-of-age journey on her debut album, Close Your Eyes, with Portland’s BentBeat Productions.

PORTLAND, OREGON, USA, September 15, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ --
No, Katie doesn’t play the sax, but she does get that question on occasion.  Growing up in a small town, and like many others, struggled with discouragement and gloom as she sought to find her place.  Everyone searches for a different outlet, and she was no different.  While sitting at her piano, Katie decided that her story needed a soundtrack.

“I really needed to know who I was as a person, so I turned to music.”  Katie recalled, “To not sugar-coat it, I was depressed.  Music was my escape, the one thing I could turn to.  I guess you could say that I used it as my own, personal kind of therapy.”

Katie’s story developed in the years following as she simultaneously grew as a songwriter and artist.  She was serving on the music team at her church-on-the-corner in Tigard, which is where she drew the attention of Dave Beatty at BentBeat Productions

“The BentBeat Team had just finished recording one of Katie’s early songs in February of 2020.  When, all the sudden, we had to change the way we went about preparing a full-length album,” said Beatty, referring to the pandemic shutdown that included music studios.  “I assigned producer Krista Westfall to collaborate with Katie.  They spent a lot of time working from home, writing and polishing the songs that would become Close Your Eyes.”

The work features performances by Portland-area musicians such as: Jordan Sings (@jordansingspdx), regularly seen performing on the Portland International Airport concourses, on the duet “Til I Die,” pianist Tim Downing (Natalie Grant, Danny Gokey), guitar player Austin Kvalvik (Nathaniel Chapman, Matthew Aarness), and violinist Maddie Desmond, prominently appearing with Downing on both the title track, “Close Your Eyes,” and on the album’s first single, “Complicated.”

“I am grateful to the team I worked with. Just being in the room as the songs grew and changed, was crazy in the best way.” Katie continued. “I really hope that people hear my music and find something that they can relate to on a deeper level than just another song on the radio.”

Katie is looking forward to writing more songs, traveling and sharing her music everywhere she goes.

You can find Katie at katiesax.com and on social media at @katie_sax

Close Your Eyes album is available for sale on Amazon, and is streaming now on Apple Music, YouTube Music, Spotify and wherever you find great music.

Matthew Aarness Delivers a Creative Collection of Northwest-Flavored Musical Treats with His Debut, Resolver.

Resolver by Matthew Aarness
Singer-Songwriter Matthew Aarness shares his Northwest-themed Bigfoot to the Portland Shanghai Tunnels on his debut album, Resolver, with BentBeat Productions.

PORTLAND, OREGON, USA, July 18, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ – Not just any artist can write and record an album that has a range from sasquatch to the infamous downtown tunnels, but Matthew Aarness brings it.  “Bigfoot” and “Shanghai Moon,” in addition to eight more songs from Aarness’ soul and mind, appear together on his debut album, Resolver, on the Portland-based BentBeat Productions flagship label.

“When I casually sat down with Matthew (Aarness), I asked him to show me some of his material,” recalled the album’s producer Dave Beatty at BentBeat.  “He grabbed a guitar, immediately played (‘Bigfoot’), and I was hooked.”

Aarness seizes each moment in his life as an opportunity to write a song.  “Riverboat,” “Die a Cat,” and the imagery of “The Submarine We Built” all show his depth and development as an artist.  His romantic side hits home on the album’s first single, “Done Building Rome”

Aarness was born in and is a resident of Oregon, and his extended family lives in the Idaho Falls area.  Aarness pours his heart out in the lyrics to each song, and apparent on the track “The Light We Share.”

“I wrote the song ‘The Light We Share’ for my teenage daughter, Juliette (16), with whom I have not spent as much time with as I would have liked to as of late,” said Aarness, welling up with tears.  “I was able to reconnect with her during the process of recording this album, and it was very special to me.  I look forward to spending more time with her.”  Aarness has two other children, David (25), and Pearl (8).

The whimsical black and white cover of Resolver was drawn by Aarness’ niece, Leah Crystal, paying clear homage to a mid-1960’s album cover from the Fab Four bearing a very similar name.

Aarness is set to host album release parties in both Idaho and Oregon:  The Nice Spot Mercantile & Coffee Bar on Friday, July 22 at 6pm, 395 Lindsay Blvd in Idaho Falls.  And at BentBeat Productions’ Studio on Tuesday, July 26th at 6pm, 8532 SW St. Helens Dr., #150 in Wilsonville.

You can find Matthew Aarness at matthewaarnessmusic.com and on social media at @matthewaarnessmusic

Resolver is available for sale on Amazon, and is streaming now on Apple Music, YouTube Music, Spotify and wherever you find great music.

LGM Brings Her Poetry to Life With “We Were Moons”

LGM - We Were Moons
Portland-based poet, LGM, releases her debut spoken word album with BentBeat Productions.

PORTLAND, OREGON, USA, March 11, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Throughout history, poetry has been transcendent.  Words put together with passion, purpose and pause.  Sonnets, Haikus, and Free Verse gave the lyrist freedom to express what was on their heart in a way that the audience was drawn to.  Waiting for the meter, rhythm, or rhyme to add color to what was on the sonneteer’s heart.

LGM is a multi-disciplined artist using visuals, poems, spoken word and music videos to express herself.  Her first compilation of spoken words put to music is “We Were Moons,” released in conjunction with Portland’s BentBeat Productions.

“We Were Moons is a collection of poems that speak of my journey to finding self-love,” recalled LGM. “I thought it was my coming-of-age journey to finding love outside of myself. And it turned out, I was discovering some real reasons to love myself. I was witnessing the way I care, remember, and forgive. I now know it’s a gift to everyone who has touched my life and helped guide me.”

LGM took her time developing the courage to combine the different facets of creativity together to compose the collection of works.  She sought out and brought together a diverse team of people to help create her vision and add even more depth through their respective creativity.

“We are so excited to help construct this album for LGM, and continue to work with her moving forward,” commented Dave Beatty at BentBeat.  “Spoken word poetry is a beautiful genre, and music gives a sonic backdrop to her shadows and truths through verse and musing.”

LGM’s “We Were Moons” album is streaming now on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and wherever you find great music.
