BentBeat Announces the Release of Krista Westfall’s Debut Worship Album, Hope Stained Glass

Krista Westfall’s 14-song album invites listeners into hope, healing, surrender, and the steady faithfulness of God.

PORTLAND, OR, UNITED STATES, June 16, 2026 /pr.com/ -- BentBeat Productions is honored to announce the release of Hope Stained Glass, the debut full-length album from Christian singer-songwriter Krista Westfall.

Hope Stained Glass is a heartfelt collection of worship songs centered on restoration, belonging, and the beauty of God’s light shining through broken places. Across 14 tracks, Westfall brings listeners into an honest journey of faith: from wrestling with fear and darkness, to receiving comfort, to standing in wonder at the goodness and glory of God.

The title track, “Hope Stained Glass,” paints the central picture of the album: lives and stories held up to the light, revealing God’s glory through every color and broken piece. The song declares that hope is found in God’s story, and that His people belong to Him.

“This album carries a real sense of ministry,” said Dave Beatty, owner of BentBeat Productions and co-producer of the project. “Krista’s songs are honest, worshipful, and deeply personal, but they are also full of hope. She has a gift for writing songs that meet people in the middle of real life and point them back to the Lord.”

The album moves through themes of surrender, renewal, intimacy with God, and trust in His faithfulness. Songs like “Hold On” and “For Our Good and Your Glory” offer encouragement for those walking through pain, reminding listeners that darkness will pass and God remains near. “Restore” speaks to the healing work of God over broken places, while “All Things New” celebrates His ability to bring life out of what has been buried, scarred, or lost.

Westfall’s writing also makes room for awe and worship. “Wonder” calls listeners to awaken again to the majesty of God, while “Worthy” lifts a simple and reverent song of praise to the Lord God Almighty. Other songs, including “Love Comes Softly,” “There’s Nothing Sweeter Than Your Life,” and the single “Holy Dirt (I’m Not Worthy),” explore the tenderness, mercy, and transforming love of Christ.

Hope Stained Glass was produced by Dave Beatty and Krista Westfall and recorded at BentBeat Studios in Portland, Oregon. The project features a wide group of musicians and vocalists, including Krista Westfall herself on vocals, Katie Sax on background vocals, Paul Harris on drums and percussion, Joshua Boyer and Vicki Knez on keyboards, Josh Trout and Amery Harris on acoustic guitars, Kieran Mako on bass, and Sarah Asla on violin.

For Westfall, the album is more than a music project. It is a prayer.

“I’m deeply grateful to everyone who helped bring this album to life,” said Westfall. “My prayer is that this album meets you where you are, ministers to your spirit as it has to mine, and brings you hope, healing, and encouragement.”

Hope Stained Glass is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and all major streaming platforms. Physical CDs are also available through Amazon.

Heavensent Releases His Debut Album, Tranquil Tantrum, a Peaceful Protest to the Modern World.

BentBeat Productions’ Heavensent unleashes a cross-genre album debut with songs ranging from struggling rebellion to dealing with his father’s untimely death.

PORTLAND, OREGON, USA, NOVEMBER 4, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Everyone grows up in different ways with their own struggles.  An individual’s emotional tendencies and personality is a direct result of their circumstances and the way they were raised.  Heavensent takes us on a journey of his upbringing and the challenges he faced with his freshman album, Tranquil Tantrum.

Heavensent (Austin Kvalvik) is an artist on staff at BentBeat Productions in Portland, Oregon.  In between producing, engineering, and playing guitar on other artists’ works, he found time to pen his own story with a battery of songs that would become this album.

“When I was writing these songs I really just tried to get out of the way of my creativity and stop worrying about what everyone would think about me,” recalls Heavensent.  “It’s rare that I feel like my struggles are bad enough to complain about, but I know there are people out there like me who probably feel the same way. I hope listeners are inspired to conquer life’s challenges by the ways I’ve defeated my own.”

Tranquil Tantrum is officially a solo project.  However, being on staff at a music production studio certainly has its job perks.  BentBeat’s Dave Beatty and Krista Westfall acted in consulting and producer roles, and Katie Sax helped with engineering and kept important things organized.  Other artists that contributed to the work include rappers Son*Tavo, Nobody47, Boy Azure, BlesT, and Loui B, and singers Bryanna Depiro and Tyson Trill, and Heavensent’s brother, Devin.

“I’m so grateful to so many talented people who helped with this album,” said a thankful Heavensent.  “Trying to blend so many different times of my life and musical tastes was a beautiful challenge, but the team stepped up.”

Heavensent’s music might have you questioning what genre you enjoy listening to the most.

Tranquil Tantrum album is streaming now on Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify and wherever you find great music.

About Heavensent: Heavensent is a singer-songwriter/producer from the Pacific Northwest. His sound is a result of years of musical inspiration, fusing metal, rock, electronica and hip hop in his recordings.

About BentBeat Productions: BentBeat is based in Portland, Oregon. Focusing on partnering with musicians to write, record, and release high quality broadcast-level music through streaming services, social media and traditional distribution. Katie Sax hands over her heart-opening premier album, Close Your Eyes

Portland newcomer, Katie Sax, shares a coming-of-age journey on her debut album, Close Your Eyes, with Portland’s BentBeat Productions.

PORTLAND, OREGON, USA, September 15, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ --
No, Katie doesn’t play the sax, but she does get that question on occasion.  Growing up in a small town, and like many others, struggled with discouragement and gloom as she sought to find her place.  Everyone searches for a different outlet, and she was no different.  While sitting at her piano, Katie decided that her story needed a soundtrack.

“I really needed to know who I was as a person, so I turned to music.”  Katie recalled, “To not sugar-coat it, I was depressed.  Music was my escape, the one thing I could turn to.  I guess you could say that I used it as my own, personal kind of therapy.”

Katie’s story developed in the years following as she simultaneously grew as a songwriter and artist.  She was serving on the music team at her church-on-the-corner in Tigard, which is where she drew the attention of Dave Beatty at BentBeat Productions

“The BentBeat Team had just finished recording one of Katie’s early songs in February of 2020.  When, all the sudden, we had to change the way we went about preparing a full-length album,” said Beatty, referring to the pandemic shutdown that included music studios.  “I assigned producer Krista Westfall to collaborate with Katie.  They spent a lot of time working from home, writing and polishing the songs that would become Close Your Eyes.”

The work features performances by Portland-area musicians such as: Jordan Sings (@jordansingspdx), regularly seen performing on the Portland International Airport concourses, on the duet “Til I Die,” pianist Tim Downing (Natalie Grant, Danny Gokey), guitar player Austin Kvalvik (Nathaniel Chapman, Matthew Aarness), and violinist Maddie Desmond, prominently appearing with Downing on both the title track, “Close Your Eyes,” and on the album’s first single, “Complicated.”

“I am grateful to the team I worked with. Just being in the room as the songs grew and changed, was crazy in the best way.” Katie continued. “I really hope that people hear my music and find something that they can relate to on a deeper level than just another song on the radio.”

Katie is looking forward to writing more songs, traveling and sharing her music everywhere she goes.

You can find Katie at katiesax.com and on social media at @katie_sax

Close Your Eyes album is available for sale on Amazon, and is streaming now on Apple Music, YouTube Music, Spotify and wherever you find great music.

Cassie Jo Calls Back to Classic Country with “Broken at the Crossroads”

Portland-based artist, Cassie Jo, releases her retro-country debut album with BentBeat Productions.

Portland, OR, December 17, 2021 – (pr.com) – Searching radio stations today for country music is often challenging.  It can be difficult to quickly identify modern country stations from any other pop or adult contemporary music.  Cassie Jo’s debut album, “Broken at the Crossroads,” reminds us of days gone past.

Cassie Jo, a Portland native, was raised in a home where music was always a major part of her life.

“Country Music has always been about storytelling, and boy do I have a story to tell," commented Cassie Jo.  “I grew up listening to Bob Seger, AC/DC, and Guns N’ Roses. I transitioned to country during middle school with Reba McEntire, The Chicks, and Shania Twain. More recently, Miranda Lambert and Pistol Annies."

With songs like “She’s Not Loving Him,” “Couldn’t Be You,” and “Give Me Good Reason,” Cassie Jo’s choices on song titles are reminiscent of Country Music’s long history of life’s love and pain.  The album’s single, “Last Star,” features her signature acoustic guitar style and soaring vocal chorus.

"Mom got me my first guitar,” reminisces Cassie Jo, referring to her mother, Reda Bell Stroup. “I memorized the picture chords out of a vintage music book. Even though I was in choir and band, music theory was not my strong suit. I played what sounded good.  Music has pulled me through some rough, bumpy roads.  Releasing this album signifies my healing."

BentBeat Producers Austin Kvalvik and Krista Westfall took the helm to assist Cassie Jo see her vision come to life in the studio.  Enlisting local Oregon artists such as Dustin Rose, playing Bend-made Breedlove acoustic guitars, Paul Harris and Matt Sumner, both on drums and percussion, Maddie Desmond on violin, as well as tapping BentBeat’s owner, Dave Beatty, on acoustic guitar and keyboards.

“The BentBeat Team did a great job taking Cassie Jo through the album she wanted to record,” said Beatty.  “Austin’s electric guitar and Krista’s vocal work was exactly what these songs needed. If I listen (to the album) while closing my eyes, the songs bring back memories of endless hours driving through the Midwest, tuning into AM radio as a youth.”

“Broken at the Crossroads” album is available for sale on Amazon (CD), and is streaming now on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and wherever you find great music.

Nathaniel Chapman Pens An Open Letter To The Church On His Album, “Dear Sons And Daughters”

Seattle-based Nathaniel Chapman announces his first album, “Dear Sons And Daughters,” with BentBeat Productions in Portland.

Portland, OR, October 9, 2021 – (pr.com) – Everyone has found ways to cope during the pandemic in different ways.  Some were making banana bread, while others were dancing in front of their smartphone.  Nathaniel Chapman spent his time writing an open letter to the church.

Chapman, who lives in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland, Washington, has been performing in Northwest houses of worship for a number of years as a singer-songwriter.  He shares a challenge for Christ-followers on the “Dear Sons And Daughters” album with the opening, unapologetic track ‘To The Churches.’

“Church should not be a country club,” said Chapman.  “We have a responsibility to be a light to the world, serve our fellow humans, and model how Jesus related to the people he encountered during his ministry here on earth.”

This is Chapman’s second solo album following his 2015’s “From Higher Ground To The Other Side,” and his first album with Portland-based BentBeat Productions.

“We enjoyed his roots-based, Americana-style and found his songs to be thought-provoking with some great story telling,” commented producer Dave Beatty at BentBeat. “His one-man-band style of live performance is compelling and poignant, and we were delighted that he entrusted our team to help him bring these songs to life.”

In addition to Chapman’s vocals and guitar, BentBeat’s house cast of appearing artists included Dustin Rose on guitars and supporting vocals prominent on ‘The Battle,’ Krista Westfall’s vocals featured on ‘Sons Of Thunder And The Daughters Who Dance,’ keyboardist Duane Wagner, father-son duo Paul & Jeff Harris on drums & bass respectively, and introduces Austin Kvalvik as co-producer.  Kvalvik’s vocal contributions and guitar chops are clearly apparent on the single, ‘Run Run Run.’

During production of the album, Chapman and his wife, Rachel, welcomed their first child, Evelyn, into their lives earlier this year.  Mrs. Chapman was originally slated to perform supporting vocal work on the tracks.

“I was really hoping to have Rachel sing with me on the album, but the logistics of getting her and baby to the studio were just too much,” commented Chapman.  “Luckily, with the help of technology, she was able to find a day to record her voice here, close to home.”

BentBeat partner artist He & I, who is also in Seattle area, opened up their project studio to the Chapmans.  “We were very grateful to Damien Blond and his fiancé, Angie West, for opening up their home studio to Nathaniel and Rachel,” said Beatty.  “We were delighted to hear them get to sing together on ‘In Your Brokenness.’”  Blond also provided the piano performance for the song.

“Dear Sons And Daughters” album is available for sale on Amazon (CD), and is streaming now on Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music and wherever you find great music.

Dustin Rose Returns to Live Music at Aurora Colony Vineyards

Dustin Rose Performs at Aurora Colony Vineyards
After a year of COVID-19 shutdowns and quarantines, recording artists like BentBeat’s Dustin Rose are beginning to return to live venues across the Northwest.

Portland, OR, March 30, 2021
– (pr.com) – Finally, some good news for music lovers in the Pacific Northwest:  Live performances are finally starting to emerge after a full year of shutdowns.  With the wide-sweeping public gathering limitations and a year when purchased concert tickets to shows that may or may not ever happen, even COVID-19 can’t stop the music.

“Who would have ever thought that we would be so grateful to go listen to musicians on stage,” said Dave Beatty, owner of BentBeat Productions.  “I know that there are a lot of music fans who are definitely willing and ready to wear masks if it means they could enjoy their favorite artists in person again.”

The pace car of BentBeat’s artist catalog being Dustin Rose, who recently announced that he will be performing regularly at Aurora Colony Vineyards’ Tasting Room on the 3rd Friday of the month, starting on April 16th, 2021.

“Depending on the weather, we may have Dustin out on our patio, or we may have him set up inside our tasting room,” said Kelly Trout, tasting room manager at Aurora Colony Vineyards.  “We love Dustin, and it also a bonus when he brings his wife, Andrea, to sing alongside him.  They are such a great couple and our guests really enjoy having them.”

Dustin is an Oregon native, known on albums for his Northwest-roots.  Among others, his albums “Oregon” and “Catch the Wind” are widely available on all platforms, with a new album due out this spring on the BentBeat recording label.  Wherever Dustin performs, he brings his Bend, Oregon-made Breedlove Guitars performing a wide variety of acoustic songs both from his own catalog and his power-folk versions of radio-favorites from the last fifty years.

“Dustin has such a great tenor (voice), is a master acoustic guitar player, and is very easy to sit and listen to,” elaborated Beatty.  “Especially while sipping a glass of Mountain-Series and enjoying a Cordon Bleu chef-prepared dinner,” smiled Beatty, referring to five of Aurora Colony’s 2018 Pinot Noir wines, each of which are named for a specific Oregon feature, and classically-trained chef Vance Wilson, respectively.

If you plan to experience Dustin Rose perform at Aurora Colony, dinner tickets must be pre-purchased for specific nights.  Tickets are available at Aurora Colony’s Website

The He & I Band Shares Their Recovery Story

This Is Life - He & I Band, Album Cover
This Is Life - He & I Band, Album Cover

He & I Band’s debut with BentBeat Productions focuses on a list of real-life subjects revolving around substance recovery, love and loss, and their faith with their 16-song album, This is Life.

Portland, OR, December 8, 2020 – (pr.com) – It is the summer of 2018 at Willis D. Tucker Amphitheater in the Seattle suburb of Snohomish, Washington. Being held there is the Rock the Church Northwest Music Festival, and the He & I Band takes the stage.  Their performance includes songs detailing their struggles and victories over life’s biggest challenges.  Drugs, alcohol, abuse, relationships, and their trust in their Heavenly Father.

On the stage that day, the band unveiled a song that writers Angie West and Damien Blond had just finished composing days before.  Titled, “Scars,” BentBeat producer and owner, Dave Beatty, immediately paid attention.

“BentBeat had a booth set up, and we were conducting a song writing competition that weekend,” said Beatty.  “The song was compelling and extremely well-constructed.  It was a privilege to award them with the top honor that weekend.”

Scars was recorded at BentBeat Studios in Portland, Oregon. “Once we got wind of people’s responses from (the song), it was obvious that the team had more to say and we needed to release their other material,” Beatty continued.  “The band had been working with producer Joe Nicholson, in the Seattle area.”  Nicholson handed off the songs that they had been constructing together, and the BentBeat team went to work creating and assembling what would become the This is Life album.

“Feel, deal and heal,” commented Angie West, the band’s lead vocalist. “The band was born out of members leading worship music with Celebrate Recovery,” a worldwide, faith-based 12 step support group.  “We always want our music to bring awareness to people with challenges such as addictions, depression, domestic violence and abuse, mental illnesses and suicide prevention.”

ARTIST’S NOTE: If you struggle in these areas please visit Celebrate Recovery to find a meeting near you where people are waiting to love on you.

West’s vocal delivery on This is Life is akin to some of the 80's iconic singers with songs like “At Your Feet” and “Through Your Eyes,” and a more modern delivery shining in “Get Up and Walk.”  Damien Blond’s piano work is creative and compelling, all the while adding his signature Broadway twist.

“We want to be a light for those who have hit rock bottom,” added Blond. “Being open, vulnerable and honest is what helps all of us connect with each other.  For our part, we want our music to say, ‘This is who we are:  People in recovery spreading love and the gospel.’”

Legendary producer Bob Brooks, of Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver B.C., was in process of mastering the album when his failing health prevented him from completing the task.  “Bob believed in us and our ministry,” said West. “When we became aware of how Bob's cancer was making it impossible to finish the mastering, we were devastated for him and his family. Thankfully that’s when his son, Delwyn Brooks (k.d. lang, INXS, Chicago), entered the project and expressed the desire to finish the engineering work in honor of his dad. The Brooks’ father and son names will be on an album together for the first time, and we think that’s pretty special.”

The This is Life album by He & I is available now on Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, and everywhere you find great music.

“Redeemed” is Mike’s first collaboration with Portland-based BentBeat Productions.  Brandow first came to the attention of producer Dave Beatty in 2016 through a songwriting workshop. “Mike’s music stood out head and shoulders among the submissions we saw that year,” said Beatty.  “We knew immediately upon listening to his work that he had something special.”

The first song that caught the producer’s attention, “At the Cross,” became the featured acoustic track on the album.  During the studio recording, the team captured raw footage of the session. The result became a video edited and released this week on YouTube, coinciding with the release of the album.

“With ‘Redeemed’ we wanted to do call back to the days of album format releases, unlike what most digital listeners are consuming today,” said Beatty of the project. “Music audiences can easily pick and choose which tracks they want to play. While people can still enjoy downloads of individual songs with this album, we wanted to create an experience to hear the album from beginning to end. This album starts out amping up with ‘Ready’ and takes a journey through music and message all the way to ‘Great and Mighty’ as the final track.”

Along with being the album’s opening song, ‘Ready’ has another first for Brandow: His entire family participated in a single recording. His wife, Lisa, is featured as a vocalist, and his son Jayce participated in a choir that joins the two to finish the track. “It was really great to have my family join me.”  Brandow also added, “I want this album to be more than simply Christian music people listen to. I want it to be interactive and engaging. I want people to sing.”

Ahead of the album’s release, singles ‘Amazing Grace (Your Grace Alone)’ and ‘Forever Redeemer’ were made available on music streaming sites. “We were very humbled how people responded to his modern take on the old hymn and equally happy with the upbeat approach of ‘Forever Redeemer,’” Beatty said of the preview songs.

Each track features Brandow on vocals and guitars, with Lisa joining him as a vocalist on three of them.  “It was really wonderful to see how everyone came together to make this album,” said Beatty. “Mike and Lisa have been making music together for years, and having that chemistry added something really special to this project.”

Local musicians from Oregon and Southwest Washington were also called upon to give specific tracks their own individual tonal palettes. “‘In Your Presence’ and ‘Endlessly’ come to mind as two extremely special songs because of the beautiful strings and piano that were added to each,” commented Beatty. “The multiple collaborations throughout this album really create an incredible listening experience from beginning to end.”

Brandow will be taking the stage at the Rock the Church Northwest Music Festival on Saturday.  The festival is free to attend and runs Friday and Saturday July 27-28, 2018 at Willis Tucker Amphitheater at 6705 Puget Park Drive, Snohomish, Washington.  More event info is available at rockthechurchnw.com
